Travel Guidance

  • During the week of Nov. 15, the Cook County Department of Public Health (CCDPH) updated its guidance for school-aged children as follows: “School-aged children do NOT have to quarantine after returning from domestic travel. They should continue to attend school in-person. However, they should get tested 3-5 days after returning from their trip and should monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 for 14 days.” 

    Therefore, the CrisisGo Daily Health Check questions will be updated as of Nov. 29 to align with this guidance that no longer specifies restrictions based on the orange and yellow states. The new questions, which will be in effect Nov. 29 are as follows:

    Domestic Travel

    • FULLY VACCINATED 
      My child is asymptomatic. No quarantine and/or PCR test is required. COME TO SCHOOL
    • UNVACCINATED-(Testing)
      My child is asymptomatic. No quarantine required. I will obtain or have obtained a negative PCR Test 3-5 days after travel. COME TO SCHOOL.
    • UNVACCINATED-(Not Testing)
      My child is asymptomatic. I am not planning on getting my child tested for COVID-19. Please keep your child home from school for 10 days and monitor for symptoms. DO NOT COME TO SCHOOL
    • My child recovered in the last 90 days from a documented COVID-19 infection and is asymptomatic. COME TO SCHOOL.

    International Travel

    • FULLY VACCINATED OR UNVACCINATED (Testing)
      My child is asymptomatic. No quarantine required. COME TO SCHOOL. I will obtain or have obtained a negative PCR test within 3-5 days.
    • UNVACCINATED (Not Testing)
      My child is asymptomatic. I am not planning on getting my child tested for COVID-19.  Please keep your child home from school for 10 days and monitor for symptoms. DO NOT COME TO SCHOOL.
    • My child recovered in the last 90 days from a documented COVID-19 infection and is asymptomatic. COME TO SCHOOL.
