Join the NBJH PTO
The NBJH PTO encourages each family to participate as PTO members. PTO membership asks each family and staff to make a one-time $15 contribution for the annual PTO dues. The link to sign up is https://www.nbjhpto.com.
Below are some activities that are funded by the PTO:
- Teacher grants
- 6th grade Dance Assembly
- 8th grade Graduation Party
- Teacher Appreciation luncheon
- Teacher dinner during conferences
- Career/LIFT Day
- Access to PTO directory
- Access to purchase items for students on " Treat Days"
The PTO is also looking for someone to serve as chairperson for this year's Career/LIFT Day in late April. If interested, please contact one of our PTO co-presidents: Nicole Woods (nicole_walter@hotmail.com) or Jenny Morris (jawalter21@hotmail.com).

Health Forms
All incoming sixth-graders are required to have a physical exam, and dental exam. Visit Health Services webpage for details and forms.
Sports physicals are required for students in grades 7, and 8 who try out or participate in interscholastic sports activities including cheerleading.
All students who require medication at school, allergy care, or asthma care need to complete student health forms each year.

NBJH Named 2023 National Blue Ribbon School
Northbrook Junior High is among the 353 schools recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a 2023 National Blue Ribbon School.

New Spending on Staff, Curriculum & Projects
The Board of Education reviewed the 23-24 Proposed Budget, summer building improvements and hired new staff at its regular meeting on July 25. Summer projects include a complete lighting upgrade for all buildings, funded by a grant from ComEd.

NBJH Awarded Health Education Blue Ribbon
Northbrook Junior High received a state Blue Ribbon Award for Excellence in Health Education for its curriculum and school programs that support student health and well-being.
