Students play together during unified games at NBJH in May.

One of our annual end-of-the-year special events is Respect Week, where students are encouraged to sign the Inclusion Pledge: "I pledge to look for the lonely, the isolated, the left out, the challenged and the bullied. I pledge to overcome the fear of difference and replace it with the power of inclusion. I #ChooseToInclude."  Approximately 35 students had the opportunity to participate in Unified Games one day during lunch and X-Block where typical students engaged with friends from the Foundational Classroom. Thanks to staff members Wendy Concklin, Matt Walz, Brooke Valentine, Garrett Pfeiffer and the Foundational Classroom staff for making this possible and continuing the tradition at NBJH, a Special Olympics Unified Champion School!
