The District is excited to offer three opportunities for parents and caregivers to come together around topics of interest to our District 28 community. District administrators will facilitate conversations around the following books/topics:

• Discussion around Yardsticks by Chip Wood: October 23, 6:00-7:00 @ Meadowbrook
  • Learn about the expected developmental milestones for children as they grow. Discuss supporting children as they approach and accomplish new milestones. Hosted by Ms. Maria Eck (Westmoor Principal) & Ms. Ericka Garza (Meadowbrook Principal)
     
• Discussion around The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt: January 22, 6:00-7:00 @ NBJH
  • Continue the conversations about strategies to parent online and in the physical world. Learn how technology and social media have changed expectations for children and parents. Hosted by Dr. Scott Meek (NBJH Principal) & Dr. Ginny Hiltz (Greenbriar Principal)
     
• Discussion around Young Explorers' podcast series: The Power of Play: May 14, 6:00-7:00 @ Westmoor.
  • Discuss the power of play as an integral way that children learn, especially in the younger years, and learn strategies for how to facilitate play. Hosted by Dr. Jenna Eberhardt (Director of Young Explorers)
