Congratulations to the 15 Glenbrook North High School Class of 2026 graduates, and former District 28 students, who were each awarded a 2026 Homer O. Harvey college scholarship. The scholarships were announced at the Senior Awards Ceremony at GBN on May 22.

The main fundraiser for the scholarship fund is the HOH5k, which is hosted by the District 28 PTO Council annually on the first Saturday in May. This year, the HOH5K raised approximately $20,000 with business sponsorships and 325 participants. Homer O. Harvey was the District's Superintendent from 1961 to 1988. When Dr. Harvey retired, the Board of Education and District PTO established this scholarship in his honor. Since 1989, a Homer O. Harvey Scholarship has been awarded to 439 graduates, totaling $429,000 in awards.
