At the February 24 Board of Education meeting, the Board approved Happ Builders, Inc. to build the new Meadowbrook School. The approval comes after a bid process, in which the district formally invited qualified contractors to submit proposals. The district reviewed the bids and selected the most competitive and responsible contractor. Happ Builders is also the contractor for the new Meadowbrook gymnasium, which is anticipated to be completed around spring break. Dr. Pearson also shared that the district is in the final design phases for Greenbriar and Westmoor, which will go to bid in March. Major construction at each building is anticipated to begin this summer. Northbrook Junior High is expected to go to bid in the fall. By staggering the bid process, the district anticipates maximizing the amount of work that can be completed at all schools.
