Expectations for Video ConferencingGeneral Information
Our curriculum has been updated to include new resources to support student learning digitally.
We will incorporate greater use of Zoom for instruction this year. Approximately 50% of the school day will include real-time, interactive learning via Zoom. Your child’s teacher(s) will communicate the specific times daily that your child will log on to Zoom. In addition, teachers will provide students with opportunities to complete assignments and projects asynchronously.
Course offerings in RLA are the same courses we offer in a typical school year. This includes accelerated courses as well as student support programming. Students in elementary school will have art, music, PE and Spanish. Junior high students will have PE and an exploratory course.
RLA students and onsite students will meet the same learning outcomes. We will implement regular grading practices and issue standard report cards. The same district-wide assessments will be administered to RLA students as onsite students.
Music Program
The District 28 band, orchestra, and choir programs will be available for your child this school year. Read more about the music program in the Music FAQ. For now, there are no extracurricular activities planned. Fall sports are canceled.
RLA communication will be sent to families regularly to keep you informed about the RLA program. In addition, you will receive your home school’s newsletter to keep you connected to your child’s home school.
