NB28CC - Children's Choir
About
The mission of the NB28CC is to help children experience the joy of choral singing in a positive, musically nurturing environment. Choir members will learn fundamental techniques of breath control, articulation, tone production, tongue placement, and enunciation. Additionally, solfege, sight-singing, reading musical notation, musical interpretation, concentration, and concert protocol will be emphasized. The methods of teaching will be tailored to fit the children’s level of maturity, physical development, and intellectual potential.
The after-school Children’s Choir program is offered as a club, available to students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades during the Fall and Winter trimesters. Each choir is organized by grade level. Rehearsals are held after school at Greenbriar and directed by Greenbriar Music Teacher Alice Park.
