What should my child do to be prepared for Extended School Year (ESY) each day?

If the weather permits, your child may be going outside, so it is helpful to apply sunscreen at home before arriving. Further, he or she should be dressed comfortably and ready to participate in class.

If additional supplies are required, this will be communicated by your child’s teacher(s).

All students are encouraged to bring a water bottle each day. Please refrain from sending a snack with your child.

Are there after-school care opportunities available for students?

Consistent with previous years, we are partnering with the YMCA & Northbrook Park District who both offer summer camps that provide transportation for students after summer school. The YMCA picks up students after 3rd period, and the Northbrook Park District picks up students after 3rd & 4th periods, at both locations. If you register your child for the YMCA or Northbrook Park District camp, please alert their staff during registration that your child is also registered for the District 28 Summer School and will need transportation.

In the event your child will be absent for an extended period of time, please email the staff in advance.
