Board of Education Meetings

Regular monthly board meetings are usually held at 7 p.m. on a Tuesday. Specific dates are listed at right and posted on the district and school calendars. Meetings will be held in the HOH Community Room at the district office and live-streamed and archived on the District 28 YouTube Channel. Please use the east entrance of NBJH to attend. 

Live Streaming

Meetings are live-streamed on the District 28 YouTube Channel. The channel will retain recordings of the live stream. Customized closed captions are uploaded when available.

Committee Meetings

The Board of Education also has committee meetings, which are work sessions usually regarding only a single topic. Committee meetings are posted on the District calendar. By Illinois law, the Board may not take official action at committee meetings. However, the public is always welcome to attend. If there is a meeting, the agenda will be posted as required by law.

Responsibilities

The most common board actions include approval of policies for the operation of the schools, employment of staff, adopting and monitoring the annual budget, adopting the annual tax levy, authorizing curriculum development, and providing general direction.
