Building Tomorrow Together
Facilitating Team

D28’s schools are between 58 and 75 years old, and our district faces a number of challenges related to aging facilities.

Building Tomorrow Together is a community-led effort to bring the entire Northbrook community together to develop goals and priorities to improve our schools. Led by a team of community volunteers, Building Tomorrow Together consists of a series of community engagement workshops, building tours and an online community survey.

They presented their final report to the Board of Education at a special meeting on December 18.

More About The Process

Community Survey

An online community survey was conducted Nov. 11 - 25th. Communications promoting the survey included:

  • a postcard to all residences in the district with a link to the survey
  • text messages to all registered voters
  • text messages to parents and staff
  • pop-up link on the website

The survey received 1,100 responses. The organization that designed the survey and results provided an executive summary of the findings.

Building Tours

Building Tours were conducted in November where the community was invited to see our facilities needs firsthand. Highlights of the tours are featured in the virtual building tours.
