Building Plan 2025-2027
Work Begins After April 1 Referendum Approval
The Board of Education and District staff are excited to begin work on the $94.9 million building plan that was approved on the April 1 ballot by 63% of voters.
This building plan will provide much-needed improvements to Greenbriar, Northbrook Junior High and Westmoor schools and replace Meadowbrook School with an updated, right-sized facility to meet the needs of families for generations to come.
Our architects are ready to begin design by conducting staff, student and community meetings for Meadowbrook School and for the major renovations at each school. Watch for details in the coming weeks.
This successful referendum would not have been possible without the community-wide effort that began with parent input during our initial Facilities Master Plan study, feedback during our strategic planning last year, and throughout the community engagement efforts last fall.
The district’s informational campaign goal was to be transparent and forthcoming, sharing our plans and answering questions in as many forms and forums as possible. We are grateful to the ambitious and enthusiastic support of our community committee, who organized a comprehensive effort to support the plan.
One of the key messages of both the informational and advocacy campaigns was how this referendum keeps our schools safe and up to date and the District 28 community strong.
We look forward to continuing our partnership with our stakeholders as we build and renovate our buildings to maintain the high priority our residents place on education for future generations.
