Construction on the new Meadowbrook gymnasium, which began at the start of the school year, is on track for completion this spring. The district is also in the final phases of design for Greenbriar and Westmoor, which will go to bid this spring.

Construction on the new Meadowbrook gymnasium, which began at the start of the school year, is on track for completion this spring. In addition, the district is currently in the final design phases for the new Meadowbrook School, which will seamlessly connect to the new gym.

In his Superintendent's Report at the October 28 District 28 Board of Education meeting, Dr. Pearson shared some of the exterior schematic design renderings for new construction at D28 schools, as part of the district's $94.9 million Build 28 initiative.
 

The district's Build 28 construction initiative is well underway. The first project crews are working on is the new Meadowbrook gymnasium, which is being built behind the current school. The new gym is expected to be completed this spring.

At is May 27, 2025 Board of Education meeting, the D28 Board approved the first round of bond sales, totaling just under $15 million, to fund the Meadowbrook gymnasium, the architectural design work of the new Meadowbrook School, and the design work of the renovations/additions at the district’s other three schools.
