    • Cost per class is $120.00 (plus lab fees as listed in the description)

  • Amazing Animals Grades 1-2, Periods 1 & 2 ($5 Lab Fee)

    Leap into the wild with an awesome adventure that investigates amazing animals. Students will learn about different animal habitats around the world.

    Brain Games Grades 1-2, Period 1 ($15 Lab Fee)

    Students will practice different strategies for problem solving through Brain Games! Games & puzzles like Sudoku, KenKen, Rush Hour, Blokus, Smart Games, IQ games, Brain Teasers, Einstein Puzzles, and Spatial Reasoning puzzles help students develop their brains and thinking skills! Strategies, rules, and patterns are taught to help complete each puzzle and focus on brain development.

    Creative Play! Grades 1-2, Periods 1 & 2 ($5 Lab Fee)

    Join us for Creative Play activities that will allow students to use their imagination, create, and problem solve while collaborating with other students. Some activities will include solving a variety of puzzles, coloring, and using their imaginations to build and be creative, while interacting with other students.

    Drawing Grades 1-2, Periods 3 & 4 ($15 Lab Fee) Maximum: 16 Students

    Do you love to draw and color? Or have always wished you could? From animals to cartoons to people, we will draw it all! At the end of the session, we will put together a portfolio of everything we have drawn.

    Ecology Kids Grades 1-2, Period 2 ($10 Lab Fee)

    Students will enjoy hands-on fun with science, nature, games, and ecologically friendly art-projects. Learning topics include bugs, the water cycle, habitats, food chains, pollution, and recycling.

    Elementary Physics Grades 1-2, Period 3 & 4 ($10 Lab Fee)

    Students will explore light, magnetism, force/motion, optical illusions, density, surface tension, and more.  There will be hands-on activities and experiments each day.

    Fun & Games Grades 1-2, Periods 2 & 4 ($5 Lab Fee)

    Ready to come and have some FUN! Join us to play a variety of socially distant games. Students will work on cooperative learning, problem solving, and decision-making skills.

    Gardening Grades 1-2, Period 1 ($20 Lab Fee) Maximum: 16 Students

    Dig into our district vegetable garden this summer. Students will participate in planting & harvesting. This class will include nutrition, study of plants, ecology and garden-themed crafts.

    Jewelry Making Grades 1-2, Period 2 ($20 Lab Fee) Maximum: 16 Students

    Learn how to make bracelets, anklets, earrings, and necklaces using different techniques. Each week we will focus on a different piece of jewelry.

    Lego Engineering Grades 1-2, Period 2

    LEGOs are much more than toys! This popular introductory class covers basic force and motion principles with a LEGO sports theme. Students work with partners to engineer a variety of structures as they conduct investigations and attempt challenges, such as building a mini bobsled or a sail car.

    Literacy Studio Grades 1-2, Period 1 & 2  ($10 Lab Fee)

    Literacy Studio is the place to be if you love to read and write! We'll spend our days reading and listening to both fiction and non-fiction works. We'll create our own writing projects by jotting down ideas in our journal and diary entries. Different themes and genres will be introduced weekly to enhance our understanding of many types of literacy. Students will also have opportunities to use technology tools during this class.

    Mindful Coloring Grades 2-3,* Period 4 ($10 Lab Fee)  * Class for Grade 2-3 only

    Think meditation through coloring! Students complete activities while also learning how to relax, decompress, and use coloring to destress. Coloring strategies and organization are taught; but freedom to explore, create, and be unique is also highly encouraged!

     Monarch Madness Grades 1-2, Period 3 ($10 Lab Fee)

    This is a class for eager readers to read all 20 of the 2022 Monarch Book Award nominees –before the school year begins! We will read and discuss one book a day and complete story-related projects including crafts, games, and role-playing activities.

    Painting and Design Grades 1-2, Period 4 ($20 Lab Fee) Maximum: 16 Students

    Join us to learn the fundamentals of painting and design. Students will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of art and design by exploring different principles and techniques using a variety of materials. Students will engage in a variety of experiences that will culminate in a final piece: a beautifully crafted landscape painting.

    Passport Around the World Grades 1-2, Period 3 ($15 Lab Fee) Maximum: 16 Students

    Grab your passport, and let’s take a trip around the world!  Using print and online resources, we will visit 8 countries. Travelers will research each country, and learn about the history and culture. Students will also listen to folktales, create craft projects, and write postcards home from their daily travels!

     Soccer, Kickball, and More! Grades 1-2, Period 2

    Students will be able to participate in a wide variety of soccer and kickball activities. Each activity is designed to promote skill and fitness development. Games that will be played will encourage students to cooperate with each other and teach team-building skills. This is an outdoor sports class.

    STEM Grades 1-2, Period 1, ($20 Lab Fee)

    Curious about how things work & why? Let’s explore together and while we are at it we will introduce some fun hands-on activities. Join us on our journey to discover just how cool STEM can be.

    Storybook Stem Grades 1-2, Period 1

    Storybook Stem is a mix of literature and STEM. It is not just getting lost in a good book, but learning other skills within the pages too! After reading a story, such as "Iggy Peck, Architect". Students will identify problems and then complete a short engineering challenge related to the story.

    Summer Crafts and Fun Grades 1-2, Periods 3 & 4 ($15 Lab Fee) Maximum: 16 Students

    Join us for four fun-filled weeks of creating summertime art & craft projects. Students will create many GREAT projects using a variety of materials. Every student will bring home unique art pieces.

    Theatre Games Grades 1-2, Period 3

    This class will provide practice of basic acting skills through fun & engaging theatre games. Regardless of your acting ability, you can work on body movement, voice and concentration while having fun at the same time!

    Time for Tech Grades 1-2, Periods 3 & 4

    This is the perfect class for the student who loves technology, being creative, and trying out new learning resources and skills. We will be spending part of our class time daily brushing up on our keyboard skills. We will use new technology tools & skills to create projects.

    Track & Field & Unique Games Grades 1-2, Period 3

    Students will learn about various track & field events, and we will explore unique games. We will play traditional and non-traditional games from other regions of the world. We will focus on fitness, fun, & game play daily. This is an outdoor sports class.

     Word Work Grades 1-2, Period 4 ($5 Lab Fee)

    Do you need to practice hearing sounds, rhyming, or spelling words? Word Work is the perfect place for you to have fun, play games, and complete hands-on activities. In this class you will practice hearing sounds, rhyming words, reading poems, breaking apart words, sorting pictures, spelling patterns, and more. This is a great place for early beginning readers who need support with phonics and/or phonemic awareness.

    Yoga, Grades 1-2 Period 1 Maximum: 16 Students

    This class will introduce students to a variety of basic yoga styles with an emphasis on breathing, flexibility, and balance. The goal will be to develop a low-impact practice to enhance sports performance, dance, and overall agility by connecting yoga to relaxation, internal and external awareness, and self-acceptance. Participants will need to bring their own mat, which they may leave in the classroom for the duration of the summer session.
