Summer School and ESY
District 28 offers summer school enrichment classes for all incoming first through 8th-grade students. Extended School Year (ESY) classes are open to students in Young Explorers and incoming 1st through 8th-grade students receiving special education services, as determined during their Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
The summer term begins shortly after the school year ends and concludes before the 4th of July holiday. Summer School is a self-funded program, with program fees covering the cost of the class. Popular classes fill up fast. Course offerings are posted a few weeks before registration, which usually opens the first Friday in March.
Check back in early 2021 for details on the 2021 summer offerings.
