End of the year tech prep
This is a repost from the article that is on the NBJH website that was posted on May 15th, 2007.
The final weeks are upon us and this means that we need to take steps to get our tech ready for the long summer. These instructions below will help us make a smooth transition to sunshine and days at the beach!
Desktop computers in the room -
Please do not cover the computers with trash bags, (sorry there may have been some confusion on this) you may go ahead and shut them down and unplug them. If there are any machines giving significant problems please submit a ticket so that we can take care of them over the summer.
Laptop Carts
The laptop carts need to be returned in the way they were distributed. All cords must be untangled and in their correct compartments. Inventory should be taken and machines in need of fixing should be ticketed.
The carts should be returned to the hallway in front of the tech office RM 102 by no later than Friday the 8th of June.
Staff Laptops
If you have a laptop that has been assigned to you and you are returning next year you may take it home to use over the summer, please note that the laptop MUST be turned in by Aug 1, 2007 for updates and maintenance. Also note that during the time the machine is out you are responsible for any damage and or theft that might occur.
If you are not returning next year you laptop must be turned in to the tech office 3 days prior to the last day of school, this year that date would fall on June 10th, 2007.
Alphasmarts
If you have any Alphasmarts please box them up and send the to Ms. Sutton in the computer lab.
Staff tech contributions
I would like to extend a big thank you to Beth Narey who contributed a fantastic and detailed how to on getting started with an iMovie project. The keynote is very concise and helpful, it will soon be added to our knowledgebase! Thank you very much for a job well done.
Thanks for a great year!
We would like to thank you all for a wonderful year, we are constantly trying to improve all of our experiences with technology. We hope to once again hit the ground running in the fall and keep pushing the envelope. Have a great summer, see you in the fall.
Till next time, onward & upward!
