Welcome to Meadowbrook
Welcome to Meadowbrook! We are so excited to begin the year together. The staff has been working very hard preparing for the students’ arrival on the first day of school. First through fifth grades will begin on August 27th, and kindergarten students will begin on August 28th. Over the summer our teachers have been attending workshops on numerous topics including comprehensive literacy, social studies, technology, and writing. They are very excited to share their new knowledge with the students. This summer we have updated our alarm system throughout the building, replaced the water main, and added a fire hydrant to ensure the safety of our school community.
This year, we will be fully implementing our district school board policy related to healthy eating. Students’ birthdays will still be celebrated, but without food. While there will be a period of adjustment as we all adapt to this change, in the long run it is in the best interest of our students to develop healthy eating habits and healthy attitudes about food when they are in their most formative years. On your child’s birthday, he/she may come to the office to receive a birthday pencil and have his/her picture taken. This will help celebrate the special day without interfering with class instructional time.
We are looking forward to a wonderful year working with you and your children. We have an exciting year of learning planned. Please feel free to stop in and say hello.
